How to Add or Remove Dollar Sign in Google Sheets


When we deal with numbers and want them to represent themselves as currency values. We look forward to put currency symbols in front of every value to represent them as a currency.

Adding Dollar Sign in Google Sheets

  • Through Format as Currency
  1. Select the cells that you want to add $ sign to.
  2. Now from the toolbar, click on Format as Currency option(dollar sign).
  3. And that’s it, your dollar signs are here.

  2. From the menu bar, click on Format option.
  3. from the pop-up menu, select Numbers and then click on Currency option.

  2. From the menu bar, click on Format and then select Number from drop-down menu.
  3. from the next pop-up menu select Accounting option and see the results.

Removing Dollar sign in Google Sheets

the way we added them, in the similar way they can be removed too. for the same, follow these –

  1. Select the cells from where you want to remove dollar sign.
  2. From the menu bar click on Format option.
  3. Select Number option from the drop-down menu and again select number from here.
